I’m going to assume he knows he needs new tires so he destroyed those last night with some sweet FWD burnouts and is headed to the tire shop today.

This is only tangentially related, but I saw a guy on the street waiting for an Uber. When he saw it, he did this weird jerky double finger rapidly moving his wrist thing to hail it and then when it stopped, crossed and entered from the side opposite the sidewalk. It deeply offended my decades of finely honed cab hauling etiquette and I wanted to punch him in the face. What are they teaching people in school these days?

That much wear on the outside of the tire points to never rotating. The rears weren’t much better.

I’ve never hailed a cab. I’ve ridden in a few but they were waiting at the airport.

Possible that and alignments. I think we can safety assume that this car has had about 5¢ spent on maintenance.

Could it have been an Uber Pool with people already sitting on the right side?

Does filling the gas tank count as maintenance?

Only if that tank is the one that holds the oil and it’s being emptied then refilled with fresh oil, then yes it counts a maintenance.

That’s pretty bad. I’ve never had an Uber anywhere near the top of my list of poorly maintained cab-type transport (been in some awful cabs).

I was in a cab in Newark that the seatbelt was broken (I was riding up front) and things were falling off it. It did have a Mack truck dog glued to the hood though.

My Corolla was oil, gas, tires, filters, and brakes. i did some other things before getting rid of it because I thought I was gonna sell privately instead of trade.

The cool thing about Toyotas is that as they age, you don’t need to change the oil anymore. You can just fill it up when it gets low just like with your gas!

I’ve just accepted that basically anything is safer than my drunk ass driving or walking in the dead of night in a Michigan winter.

One of my many stupid human tricks in college and after was knowing how to hail a cab.
Its remarkable that people think a clear quick wave and proper shout is the invention of fire, but again when you are hailing a cab for other people its usually cause they are white girl wasted.

why that’s just a little bit of curb rash no big deal..
(Refocuses eyes) HOLY CRAP THAT TIRE IS REKT!.
m my last Lyft ride was in a Toyota Corolla and though the car was in good shape the driver banged the wheel into the curb going around a corner. Nice! The driver laughed and kept going....

I don’t, because when I get a sketchier looking one, I like to pretend I’m taking a taxi in some exotic third world country. Works better with Lyft, though.
